Genesis 1:1

Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

It’s hard to imagine a timeless “time” before time; it’s impossible to comprehend a God that has always existed; and it’s mind-boggling to realize that God spoke this infinitely vast universe into existence by the power of His Word – but all this is true.

The Bible doesn’t explain God, the Bible simply reveals God. God created and spoke everything into existence from nothing but His creativity – there was no raw material to work with, revealing His absolute omnipotent power! We read in Hebrews 11:3, “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”

Whatever you do – please – do not buy the lie of evolution. To believe that it all came into existence by accident, or random chance, would be similar to saying that an explosion in a print shop might produce a dictionary, or a tornado in a junkyard might produce a jet plane. No, the heavens and the earth were marvelously made by a personal and all-powerful God!

That’s a great way to start the Bible, and it’s a great truth to build our lives on.

Until the whole world hears, your brother in Christ,
