Ever since I’ve been a Christian, I’ve always seen this part of the story as an almost perfect Illustration of 1 Peter 3:1-7. Rocky is an understanding husband who loves his wife and is willing to submit to her. Adrian has a legitimate concern and initially resists – but comes around to let her husband be the man he was meant to be; to follow God and lead. When Adrian let’s that happen, when she allows her husband to lead – that’s all he needed – her support. Her support and even confidence, led to hard work and ultimate victory…for her!
